About Bodega
Norton - in their own words:
The winery and its 680 hectares (1,680 acres) of cultivated land are located in Luján de
Cuyo the first Argentine territory to have its wines classified as Denomination of
Controlled Origin. It is situated in the highest area of the Mendoza River valley,
at 33º south latitude between 800-1,100 meters (2,625-3,609 feet) above sea level, in the
foothill of the Andes Mountains.
Mendoza province encompasses 70% of the cultivated area of the country, and the quality of
its offerings make it the unparalleled wine center of Argentina, with Luján de Cuyo at
its epicenter. The soil is alluvial, gravelly, and not too deep, with good subsoil
drainage. Rainfall is scarce (190 millimeters or 7.5 inches per year) and the temperature
moderate at 15ºC (59°F). The temperate weather, with its warm days and cool nights, is
ideal for achieving the colors, aroma and taste of superior wines.
Our wines are exported to more than 40
countries throughout the world. We are also proud to state that Norton is presently
Argentina's most exported brand.
The main exportation markets are: Germany, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Austria, Belgium,
Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Arabian Emirates, United States, Finland,
Holland, Hong Kong, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Mexico, Peru, Sweden,
Switzerland and Venezuela. |
