Uakari + Amazon Emotions

One trip, two Amazon Experiences

Uakari Lodge and Amazon Emotions Lodge have come together to provide visitors with a hybrid experience in two different Amazonian ecosystems. The experience features an opportunity to get to know the agricultural techniques of the indigenous people, to see flora and fauna specific to each region and to take in the sunset from two different angles: floating on Lake Mamirauá and from a treetop refuge

Two Ecosystems

– Uakari Lodge floats on top of the waters of a canal of the River Japurá, in the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve and the majority of trips are by boat — in the wet season, the boat travels through the flooded forest at the height of the treetops
– About two hours by car from the city of Presidente Figueiredo, the Amazon Emotions Lodge is in a region which never floods. The plants and animals of the area are more easily seen from walking trails

Keep a watch out for...

– During your stay in Uakari Lodge, there’s a very good chance you’ll catch sight of animals like the red-faced White Uakari monkey (the local symbol), the black-faced squirrel monkey (Saimiri vanzolinii), the Amazon Pink River Dolphin, the Wattled Curassow and even the much-feared jaguar
– Among the species you are most likely to encounter on the Amazon Emotions Lodge tours are the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock (native to the region of Presidente Figueiredo), the bearded saki monkey and the red howler monkey
