Rafting - Iguassu Falls (Brasilian side)

Inaugurated in February 2002, this tour is the highlight of the visit to those who like strong emotions. The 1.700 cubic meters of water that forms the Iguassu Falls downstream from the Falls, concentrate at a single point of the narrow Iguassu riverbed where it runs fast, forming high waves.

After taking the adrenaline-producing tour on a Macuco Safari motor boat, the Iguassu River rafting descent starts across from San Martin Island. Here  visitors are transferred from the motor boat to the paddle-propelled rubber raft. From here the downriver trip starts along the rapids formed by the narrowing of the river and the waterfalls. A support boat follows the raft throughout the tour, guaranteeing extra security to all participants.
Before departure, a specialized guide teaches the basics of rafting, explaining the boat, showing equipment, basic maneuvers and security measures. This guide follows the whole of the trajectory, leading the boat and giving maneuvers instructions to participants.

Total duration of rafting: 30 minutes
Distance: 4,5 kilometers
Rapids class: II or III (depending on river level)
Equipment: boats of 8 and 12 passengers
Children above 14 years are allowed to participate
