INFORMATION ON SKIING VALLE NEVADO - "in their own words":

LOCATION: Valle Nevado is situated in the heart of the Andes just 37 miles from Santiago's International Airport, a drive of about 2 hours depending on road conditions and traffic.

ALTITUDE: Valle Nevado rests at 10,000 feet above sea level.

SNOW SCHOOL: Valle Nevado's Ski/Snowboard School staff is comprised of over 50 expert, bilingual instructors hailing from various countries. Our adept instructors will confidently and safely accompany beginners getting started and with their initial attempts as well as guide more experienced skiers honing skills for whatever style they choose. The below-listed services are available at the snow school, as follows:

GROUP LESSONS:

• MINI SNOW SCHOOL - Designed for children between 4 - 6 years old who wish to learn to take their first ski "steps". There are half-day and full day courses that run from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and lunch is included (provided in the self service Slalom Restaurant).
• GETTING STARTED - This course is offered for beginners over 12 years old. The package includes a complete set of ski equipment.
• ADULT VALLEY EXPLORER - We offer three levels of courses: A / B / C per skiing ability, starting with wedge skiing and turning through to advanced, parallel skiing.
• CHILDREN VALLEY EXPLORERS - Courses offered for children up to 12 years old, also three levels: A / B / C, per skiing ability, from wedge skiing to advanced parallel skiing.

PRIVATE LESSONS - These lessons entail personalized instructions for 1 to 3 persons.

SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS - These lessons are for groups of 3 to 5 persons who are on the same skiing level. The lessons are not set schedules and last for 3 hours.

INDIVIDUAL ARRANGEMENTS - An alternative is available to hire a specific instructor for the full day (7 hours)

HELISKI AND HELISNOWBOARD - A Bell 407 helicopter is available to take 5 skiers/snowboarders, accompanied by a guide, to peaks of up to 13,800 feet where they will make descents in magnificent, unexplored valleys appreciating spectacular beacuty of the Andes skiing or riding a vertical drop of up to 8,200 feet.

SNOWBOARD PARK - Our park consists of a Border Cross and Half Pipe for snowboarders, both of which have been accredited by the International Snowboard Federation. We also have the machinery for Half Pipe fabrication and maintenance.

SNOWMAKERS - Our snowmakers have the capacity which enables us to make sufficient snow to cover a surface of approximately 2.5 miles excompassing 6 runs thus assuring snow for our skiers/riders.

HANG GLIDING AND PARASAILING - Here you will have the opportunity to get a bird's-eye view of Valle Nevado on a tandem hang glider or parasailing flight. You can hire the services at the summit of the El Mirador chairlift and will be left in the competent hands of our widely experienced professional pilots.

SKI SHOP - The shop stocks an inventory of 1,100 pieces of equipment considering leading, international names of skis (parabolic) and snowboards for adults and children. It is the only ski shop that boasts a state of the art workshop for equipment repair and maintenance.
