WHERE WE ARE

The Pantanal is approximately 200 square kilometres and is one of the most preserved and interactive ecosystems on the planet. Situated in the centre of Brazil, the Pantanal ends at the Paraguay River and its tributaries, forming the largest floodplain in the world.

We are located in a very privileged part of the Pantanal, along the banks of the Negro River in the rural area of Aquidauana within the state of Mato Grosso do Sul - Brazil.

THE RIO NEGRO, PANTANAL

The Pantanal along the Negro River is the finest in the region. Here you find most of the wetland landscape units: bays, salt water lakes, streams, flooded plain, riparian vegetation and even the Negro River that runs in the plain between two large swamps, making it a place inaccessible to other users from outside the region.

The Negro Riverīs Pantanal is one of the most superb sites in the world to watch wildlife, not only because of the extraordinary pulsating life of its fauna, but also because the vegetation is widely open for observation. It is an ecosystem in constant transformation. Home of a complex variety of animals and vegetable communities, its future depends on the balance between its various life forms.

Barra Mansa Hotel is located in a privileged place in the Pantanal, by the Negro River, in one of the finest and well preserved parts of this sanctuary, for this reason Barra Mansa has frequently used for TV footage and photographic projects in the Pantanal.
