ABOUT AWASI IGUAZU - in their own words:

A BRIEF HISTORY

Legend has it that a deity set his sights on marrying a beautiful local maiden called Naipí. Sadly for the god, his love was not reciprocated, and the young woman fled in a canoe with her mortal lover, Tarobá. Angry beyond all measure, the god decided to chop up the River Iguazú, creating multiple waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. Thus, came about the IGUAZU FALLS.

Located just 15 minutes from the world’s largest waterfalls, Awasi Iguazu has 14 stand-alone villas plus a main lodge.  Awasi is unique as its three hotels (Awasi Atacama, Awasi Patagonia and Awasi Iguazu) are the only hotels in South America where each room is given a personal guide and 4WD. This allows guests to tailor-make their experiences to suit their own requirements, interests and preferences.

At Awasi, our mission is to provide memorable travel experiences and to share with our guests something of the culture and nature of South America's most attractive corners.

OUR LODGE

Built on stilts for minimal environmental impact, the 14 villas are spread throughout the jungle, each positioned for utmost privacy but within easy distance of the main lodge.

There will be 13 standard villas, and 1 master villa. Each villa has a private plunge pool, and spacious living area. The master villa has a larger plunge pool and living room, allowing extra space for two couples or families.

With the perfect mix of privacy in your villa, along with the opportunity to socialize at the bar and restaurant in the main lodge, Awasi Iguazú is be the perfect place to enjoy the very best of the Misiones Province, Argentina.

LOCATION

Situated on the banks of the River Iguazú, our lodge is located just 15 minutes from the Iguazú Falls, one of South America's most iconic destinations.

We are a 20-minute drive from the International Airport of Puerto Iguazú (also known as Cataratas del Iguazú).  It is also easy to arrive at Awasi from the Brazilian side, it takes just 35 minutes, including immigration, to travel by vehicle from Foz do Iguaçu International Airport to our lodge.

WEATHER

The climate changes very little throughout the year, making Iguazú a year-round destination. Expect warmer breezes from October to April, and cooler temperatures at night from May to September, especially at night. Rainfall is common year-round so best pack plenty of layers.
