ABOUT ESTANCIA COLOME "JAMES TURRELL MUSEUM" - in their own words:

James Turrell Museum
There has always been a close relationship between wine and art.

Both imply the participation and combination of natural factors; an artist is involved in both their processes of creation and production; both stimulate our senses and give us pleasure.

In Colomé, this bond becomes even closer because Donald Hess, its founder, is a renowned collector and patron of the arts as well as a worldwide wine producer.

The James Turrell Museum at Bodega Colomé is part of the Hess Art Collection around the world and it is exclusively dedicated to the work of this famous artist. James Turell is best known all over the world for his work with light. This artist uses light to create spaces, to generate new perceptions that allow viewers to question how they have become used to certain ways of conceiving objects, the physical world and reality. Light becomes a bridge between the material and immaterial worlds, the link between the visible and the invisible.

The museum has several rooms with different light installations and a famous skyspace that can be seen at sunset, when viewers can not only enjoy the play of natural and artificial lights, but also be awed by the majestic Colomé´s sky that infuses their souls and spirits with energy and mysticism.
