HISTORY:
This estancia was founded in the late 19th century as part of
“Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego,” the largest and most prominent
sheep-farming company in Patagonian history.
As a result of the region’s geographic and climatic conditions, the estancias
developed a lifestyle that permeates Patagonian culture. The need to be self-sufficient
led settlers and workers to live with their families and work in a small village.
Today, it is possible to learn about that history thanks to our charming hotel, which is
built in the Owner’s House and Administration House of Cerro Guido. In addition to
the workers’ houses, you will also find an antique
kitchen and dining room, blacksmithing and carpentry workshops, garage, fire station,
shearing shed, stables and kennels, as well as other facilities. There is also a childcare
facility, a school, a police station and a health clinic for the local community.

Cerro Guido offers its guests access to Torres del Paine National Park and a spectacular
view as well as the opportunity to explore the estancia, meet local residents and be part
of the wide variety of livestock activities depending on the time of the year. |
