WHAT TO DO IN BUZIOS

BEACHES
Without a doubt this is THE activity, along with seeing and being seen by the jet setters and beautiful people. There are more than 20 beaches; some say 23, 24 or 25 - but as they say too "Who cares; there's enough!". Click here for a description of the main and most popular beaches.

BOAT TRIPS
Several boats depart from Praia da Armacao and Ossos for a cruise along the beaches and islands, lasting about 3 hours. The cruise is done by schooners and fishing boats and the price normally includes tropical fruit, juices, soft-drinks and caipirinhas including a stop along the way for a swim.

DIVING
The waters around Buzios are crystalline clear with average temperatures around 70 degrees Farenheit. For first time divers the local diving oeprators offer mini-courses and for the experienced divers, full assistance for diving sorties as well was the sale or rental of equipment.
    Snorkeling and shallow diving can be done along the cliffs bnext to the beaches of Joao Fernandes and Joao Fernandinho, Lagoinha, Forno, Azeda and Azedinha.
    Half an hour away if Ilha da Ancora, where the average visibility of 40 feet and can reach 80 feet in the summer. Because of its shape, there is shelter from the wind and currents and you can see corals, many fish including monkfish, jewfish, anchovies, barracudas and even green turtles.

TREKKING, HIKING & MOUNTAIN BIKING
Buzios' spectacular setting justting out from the hilly mainland, offers many trails for hiking to enjoy the local flora and fauna. Mountain bikes can be rented and for the trekker, longer trails take you to places inaccessible by cars.

GOLFING
