ABOUT HANGAROA ECO VILLA & SPA - in their own words:

OUR PHILOSOPHY
TE PITO O TE HENUA o MATA KI TE RANGI  was the name that the ancient Rapa Nui gave their island. In this extreme point in the oceans, one of the most remote inhabited places of any continent, its people gave life to a unique culture and defended to the point of death the values of their native territory, its KAINGA..

The philosophy of Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa is based on the concept of KAINGA, that carries a deep respect for the motherland of Rapa Nui, that physically and spiritually nourishes the world that connects to it. This respect towards their natural and cultural resources compels us to contributer to its preservation and development for future generations of Rapa Nui natives.

ARCHITECTURE
The architectural design Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa is a tribute to the village of Orongo, whose vestiges are still found in the heights of volcano  Rano Kau , at its west summit.  There they celebrated the election of TANGATA MANU, most important ceremony of the second period of the island.

The village concept allows for a harmonious relationship between the spaces, interlocked by a landscape design of native species where one can appreciate the blend of nature and the built environment.

FACILITIES:

HAREVAKA reception and Lounge
Main House reception and Lounge.. Its design is based on the ancient theme "house boat", a building shaped like a boat  but backwards, as seen in the stone ruins of the island. When the passenger arrives at HAREVAKA, his or her view is projected into the sea, so that  the design of this place provides a sense of height. Your mood is impacte by the perceptions of light, the smell of wood or dirt, and the soft music.

Two cypress trees stand out in the middle of the enclosure, and the ceilings covered by a a weaving of  pine sticks. A small bar ensures our attention to our guests, so that the lobby becomes a place of entertainment and relaxation.

TIARE reading room
In this unique space, guests can relax and read a good book, own or provided by the hotel from its library. It's a small space, designed as an intimate setting.
