ABOUT THE MACHU PICCHU SANCTUARY LODGE - in their own words:

LOCATION

Located 400m above the Urumbamba River and 50m from the Machu Picchu citadel. A three and half hour train journey from Cusco and a 30 minute ride up the mountain to the hotel and the ruins.

 Tampu Restaurant Bar:
Enjoy the wonderful views of the majestic surroundings while you savour one of the many delightful dishes from our International or Peruvian à la carte cuisine in this exclusive Andean location with stylish and modern decoration. With a 72 person maximum capacity, Tampu Restaurant Bar features natural materials such as stone and wood, in keeping with the overall environmentally harmonious style of the Lodge.

The restaurant bar, which is exclusive to the guests at the Lodge, offers delicious local and international à la carte cuisine and a wide variety of beverages.

Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant:
Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant offers a daily lunch buffet which is open to the guests of the Lodge and visitors to Machu Picchu. The restaurant, with a capacity of 200, offers pleasant surroundings to relax in and enjoy a delightful lunch. Every evening, Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant features evening multimedia presentations of the Machu Picchu Citadel and the beauty of its orchids.

 

Guest Services: You will find below useful information that will make your stay even more enjoyable:

Souvenirs and Boutiques: We offer a good selection of souvenirs of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.

Massages: A relaxing and invigorating massage will make the perfect end to an energetic day. You can choose from an aromatherapy, Inca, energizing, relaxing, stress relieving or spinal column massage.

Videotape Library: For your entertainment we have a good selection of Classic and Award-winning movies available for your hire, free of charge.

Credit Cards: We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners.

Money Exchange: There is one Bank in Aguas Calientes (Banco de Credito) and one ATM machine. You are also welcome to exchange US dollars Travellers cheques and US dollars to Peruvian currency at the Front Desk. Please note that we do not change Traveller's cheques to US dollars, only to Peruvian currency (Nuevos Soles).

Luggage: We offer a luggage storage service. After your check-out, bags can be stored until your return to Aguas Calientes and can also be delivered directly to the train station upon request.

Shoe Cleaning: The Lodge offers a complimentary shoe cleaning service.

Telephone, Fax and Internet: You can make national and international phone calls from your room. Fax services can be arranged at the Front Desk and our Internet service is available all day. There is a WiFi connection at Tampu restaurant.

Laundry Service: We provide a laundry service.

Water: Tap water is safe to drink, however, complimentary bottled water is delivered to your room each evening at turn-down. The water used in the kitchen, bar and restaurant is treated water and is 100% potable. All our vegetables and fruits are washed with purified water. Ice is also made of 100% purified water.

Transportation:
Bus service - From Machu Piichu Pueblo  to the Citadel, buses are scheduled from 6.30am to 13.00pm (timings subject to change during low season).
From the Citadel to Machu Picchu Pueblo the bus service runs approximately every 30 mins, from 11.00am. The last bus departs from Machu Picchu at 17.30pm.
