ABOUT HOTEL BOUTIQUE LA MERCED - in their own words:

LOCATION:
The hotel is centrally located in Cartagena de Indias' historic center, at Don Sancho Street (Calle Don Sancho), across the traditional square called Plaza de La Merced and adjacent to both the imposing Teatro Heredia and the old La Merced Convent. The beautiful setting is surrounded by the city’s oldest wall cordon, where the Caribbean Sea brakes in full splendor.

HISTORY:
La Merced Hotel Boutique's mansion was built during the first half of the 18th century. It was both the scene and the target of countless battles and its history is closely linked to that of colonial Cartagena. In the year 1897, Don Salas Pretelt Martinez' forbearers purchased and restored the mansion and introduced late-colonial and some republican style elements into its architecture.

The hotel's rooms and lounges have been named after some members of this family, who have owned the mansion for several generations.

OVERVIEW:
La Merced Hotel Boutique was designed to offer its guests a place were they will enjoy the full comfort of a first-class hotel mixed with the privacy that you only find in your own home.

The hotel has eight rooms. All rooms are equipped with:

The room categories are:

• Special Room with Terrace:
  Apartment type room located on the fourth floor. It has a terrace with a jacuzzi that overlooks the old city and the ocean. This is a King Room with two bathrooms, a dining-living room and a kitchen with a refrigerator, in addition to all the amenities of the Hotel's other rooms. If required, this room can accommodate two additional twin beds.

• Junior Room:
  There are 2 Junior Roons - one with King size bed or Twin beds plus a sofa bed and a double-bowl bathroom sink

• Standard Full Room:
  There is one Standard Full Room with two full-size beds

• Standard King Room:
  There are four Standard King rooms with either a King bed or Twin beds

FACILITIES:

• The air-conditioned "Don Sabas" lounge is located in the first floor and is ideal for having a drink, watching a movie, listening to music or simply reading a book for the library.

• Heated swimming pool located on the first floor in the "Dona Carmen" patio

• "Dona Carmen" Restaurant for splendid breakfast

• The terrace is located on the fourth floor and isthe perfect spot for sunbathing, watching a beautiful Cartagena sunset or the old city, or getting together with friends.
