ABOUT PALACIO ASTORECA HOTEL - in their own words:
The Palacio Astoreca Hotel is built at the core of the historical city centre in Valparaiso, the most exclusive point in the natural amphitheatre overlooking the magnificent bay. It is in “Cerro Alegre”, just steps from the famous “Paseo Yugoslavo” and the Fine Arts Museum, the Barburizza Palace.

The hotel opened on September 1st 2012. Our amenities include 23 rooms, spa, restaurant, wine cellar, bar and a library, housed in two buildings: the palace, a completely restored national monument, and an older house, whose original façade has been conserved. Both buildings have thus recovered the style and elegance that they had lost over time.

Alegre Restaurant 
A place to share and enjoy the finest cuisine and exceptional wines, the Alegre Restaurant’s philosophy is to take advantage of local products while allowing the chef to transform them as he wishes. The Restaurant offers a selection of high quality wines. It is also possible for you to select the wine to accompany your meal from our wine cellar.

Whether you are dining as a couple, with family, as a tourist or among colleagues, you will always find the perfect place to enjoy our dishes, in the restaurant or on the terrace, but always with sea views.

Piano Lounge Bar
With its contemporary decor, our piano lounge bar is the perfect place to enjoy a pisco sour or a pure malt whisky, seated comfortably by the fire, in a warm, cosy environment. There will often be live jazz or a solo pianist for you to enjoy as well

Wine Cellar
We have selected wines for you from the best regions and the most exclusive vineyards in Chile, but also from other South American countries. We seek originality and creativity in selecting the wines for our Cellar and we would be delighted to share our discoveries with you.

The Library
The hotel library contains many art and travel books, as well as Chilean and world literature. It is another place where you can relax, read or play chess by the fire. The library is a quiet corner, far from the everyday hustle and bustle, allowing you to get acquainted with Valparaiso, the harbour and its many tales, or prepare your future travel plans.

The Terrace
The terrace of the Palacio Astoreca Hotel provides a spectacular view of Valparaiso bay with its boats, cruise ships and, occasionally, submarines. It is an ideal place to have lunch or simply a cup of tea with “home-made” macaroons or enjoy an evening cocktail in a peaceful setting.

 Spa
The Spa is a pleasure for the senses. It is an elegant space, with walls and floors in dark slate, featuring a covered pool, a hammam (Turkish steam bath), a massage room and “hot tub” – a typical southern Chile jacuzzi, heated with firewood. It is a magical, cosy place to relax or get a massage.
After discovering the north and south of Chile, traversing Valparaiso’s steep streets, working for a week in Santiago or simply for no reason at all, imagine yourself plunging into the heated pool or relaxing in a hot tub. While soaking in bubbles, you will have a marvellous view of the vertical garden that grows over one side of the building, and of the Valparaiso sky.

The Hotel has 23 rooms with original decor, combining the comforts of modernity with old time charm. You can choose among five different categories, with floor plans ranging from 20 to 40m2. From your room, you can see the sea and the port, with its ships scattered around the bay, as well as the characteristic and spectacular hills, with colorful homes during the day and thousands of lights by night.

The rooms provide all the amenities necessary for an enjoyable stay. We also have a video library available to all our guests, featuring national and international films in several languages.
