Hotel Juma Opera

Manaus, Brazil

ABOUT HOTEL JUMA OPERA - in their own words:
With the exclusivity of a high standard boutique hotel and occupying historic mansions in front of the imposing Amazonas Opera House, Juma Opera offers 41 spacious accommodations, a restaurant mixing regional and international cuisine, gym and rooftop pool.

A historic high-end boutique hotel that also stands out for the sustainable actions already seen in the jungle lodge (Juma Amazon Lodge), with the use of solar panels for heating water and coatings containing recyclable glass in its composition.

Like other buildings in the historic center of the state capital, built in the midst of the economic heyday, two Juma Opera mansions also resulted from the years of local prosperity.

Listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan), the main house required a meticulous recovery process. The former American president Theodore Roosevelt visited it when it was an American Consulate in the beginning of the 20th century, during his expedition to the Amazon Rainforest with Marshall Rondon.

THE PROJECT
The entire project of the renowned architect Roberto Vinograd seeks to balance with the old buildings in the surroundings. Spaces such as the bar, the rooftop pool and the restaurant were designed to provide pleasant moments always having the majestic Opera House as a backdrop. All the wiring in the front moved underground, enhancing the view of our famous neighbor. The award-winning architect Debora Aguiar decorated the hotel, mixing sophistication with the old buildings and the rich local craftsmanship.

THE LOBBY
Juma Opera’s lobby is located at the main historic mansion and has a pleasant seating area, with arched windows offering a touch of nostalgia to the sophisticated contemporary décor.

THE OPERA RESTAURANT
Located under an impressive dome composed of iron and glass, the Opera Restaurant has fish, meat and hints of indigenous cuisine that complement its varied international menu.

THE TERRACE

In addition to the imposing internal structure, the restaurant also has a beautiful terrace, a perfect place for regional drinks with a stunning view of the Amazonas Opera House just ahead.

THE BAR
The hotel bar is located in an area between the lobby and the restaurant, serving both. It has an excellent view of the opera house. The highlight of our drinks menu is the house cocktails, always bringing a local touch.

THE FITNESS CENTER
The well equipped gym is located at the top of the main mansion and has an amazing view to the dome of the Amazonas Theater.

T
he rooftop swimming pool is surrounded by a glass railing that provides beautiful views of the Amazonas Opera House, the Palace of Justice and the Church of Sao Sebastiao. On the horizon, it is possible to see up to the Negro River!
