ABOUT THE FAZENDA DA LAGOA - in their own words:

The hotel FAZENDA DA LAGOA is a rare privilege; it enjoys an unspoiled, white sandy beach stretching over seven miles, as far as the eye can see. Set on the sands of the Bahia coast, it is a rare treat to walk along the deserted beach.

The Hotel offers 14-decked bungalows with spacious construction, which overlook a virgin beach washed by the Atlantic Ocean. The lush fauna comes directly to your table, with the freshest local seafood imaginable. It is as close to nature as luxury will allow.

Raise a flag to signal you are ready for breakfast, which is delivered to your bungalow footsteps, in a charming picnic basket.

The brazilian designer Lia Siqueira created the architecture and the carioca artist Mucki Skowronski the decoration. Mucki and her husband Arthur Bahia , creators of Fazenda da Lagoa, have stood the traditional notion of luxury on its head. They have created the best little hotel in Brazil where candles illuminate, not just the dark, but your consciousness too!

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Total of 14 rooms, 10 with King size bed and 4 with Queen size bed; 8 of the rooms connect. Each spacious and individual bungalows is approximately 450 sq. feet. All rooms have decks with hammocks, gauze-netted beds, air-conditioning, private bathroom and terrace with open-air shower; two bungalows have large sun terraces with mesmerizing sea views and one with a quiet view to the river, mangrove and sunset.

DINING:
We cater based on local cuisine: world-class but with a twist!  Our kitchen offers traditional Brazilian, contemporary seafood and international dishes.
We features two restaurants: one at the Pool Bar the ideal setting to serve lunch and snacks all daylong; and at the main restaurant, where we serve breakfast and dinner in a more cozier setting.

Room Express:
We will deliver your order from a limited room service menu to your bangalow doorstep in a charming large picnic basket for you delightful breakfast or snack or light meal.

Activities and excursions that can be arranged on request:

• Fazenda Ararauna – Atlantic Rainforest – Cacao
  Blend in with Nature among trails in the Rainforest and river baths; Farm Ararauna is situated on the banks of the river Alianca close to the city of Una. And then you will be familiar with the golden fruit of our grounds, the cacao, like other local culinary fruits (cupuacu, acai,pupunha, black pepper, clove and cinnamon) combined with a delicious organic lunch on the grounds of the farm

• UNA – Ecoparque – Biodiversity
  Visit ‘Ecoparque de UNA’ in the middle of the Atlantic Rainforest and discover the numerous species of Flora and Fauna. Including in this conservation unit is a canopy walkway in the middle of the trees in which you will be struck by the presents of animals, which are threatened by extinction like the golden lion monkey and the nail head, yellow chest monkey. The visitor can then learn about the process of the extracting of rubber by craftsman.

• River ‘Do Engenho’ – Cacao farm
  Formed by the Rivers Fundao, Cachoeira and Santana, the river ‘Do Engenho’ can be admired by us all during the boat trip from the bay of Sapetinga in the direction of a recreational farm. There you can learn about the story of the process cycle of cacao well like the way of life of the colonels who came to live here. Afterwards there is lunch and the tasting of typical appetizers. There is a trip from Do Engenho to Santana where we find the chapel of Santana that was constructed by Jesuits, dating from 1537. This trip is a real deliverance of the regional culture.

• Ilheus – Lake Encantada - Trekking
  The magnificent lake “Encantada” is an environmentally protected area that shelters numerous waterfalls offering options of trekking and a spectacular sunset. Its huge water mirror portrays a wild and raw nature. The waterfall bathing is an excellent integration of how the environment can inspire peace and tranquillity

• Comandatuba – Horseback riding in the Atlantic Rain Forest
  For those who like horseback riding this is the option to enjoy a pleasant environment enriched with culture, magic and enchantment. The Farm Country is close to the city of Canavieiras and has horse rides trough the middle of the Atlantic Rain Forest with beautiful landscapes and full of surprises. Immediately after, there is a trip to Comandatuba to visit stores that sell local arts crafts, which is very much appreciated by everyone

• Golf
  On a field of 18 holes, with international standard and top of the line equipment, integrated in the natural landscape of the island, we feel all the thrills of this sport. Constructed by the American architect Dan Blanckship, the Comandatuba Ocean Course is situated between the sea and the mangroves in the middle of an environment dominated by a spectacle of endemic flora and fauna

• Deep Sea fishing-Marlin
  Imagine a paradisiacal place for sport fishing. Think of a place with clear water, a mild climate, an abundance of blue Marlins and a complete infrastructure. This place is Canavieiras, fish lovers will enjoy this paradise.
  

WELL BEING LOUNGE:
A complete range of massages and spa treatments designed to relax, rejuvenate, enrich and heal body and soul. Therapies unique to Bahia are offered, using mineral-rich rainforest muds.
The spa is accessed via a separate bangalow. It features four massage areas, onefacial treatment rooms and one pedicure station. The Center services are available to guests 18 years of age and older.

• Massage: Our massage treatments are designed to ease muscle tension, alleviate stress and replenish the nervous system. With your choice of pure aromatherapy oils and massage techniques, you will be guided to where your mind can release and your body can relax.
• Bahia Healing Stone Massage: The precise placement and use of warm river and volcanic stones bring profound relief to tense muscles, stressed emotions and a weary spirit. (90 or 120 minutes)
• Rainforest Mud Mask : Pure, mineral-rich rainforest clay, rich in trace minerals, has been used for its therapeutic properties. We use it in this detoxifying wrap treatment. The treatment is an excellent way to increase energy, replenish the skin’s moisture content, and aid in the absorption of much-needed minerals and vitamins. Your skin will feel toned and restored, with a natural glow. (60 minutes)
• Manicure: The perfect way to complete your spa experience. Gentle skin softening, nail shaping and care for your personal preferences make this an unforgettable manicure. (30 minutes)
