ABOUT EL BORDO DE LAS LANZAS - in their own words:
Located in the province of Salta, set in the flat, fertile valley just 37-miles east of Salta and at an altitude of 2500 feet above sea level, El Bordo de las Lanzas is one of the most historic "fincas" of the province. Its property deeds date as far back as 1609.  Built in 1790, this lovely colonial estate is decorated with elaborate religious paintings and woodcarvings dating back to the 17th century.

YOUR HOSTS:
The estate’s owners, the Arias Cornejo family, personally welcome visitors. Staying in the Estancia is an experience that allows travelers to really get to know Salta’s countryside, to share the authentic lifestyle of a working estate and to learn in detail the history of the north of Argentina, a region rich in traditions and the former battleground during the wars of independence.

At El Bordo de las Lanzas, you will certainly find comfort, warmth, history, nature, outdoor activities, excellent attention and a variety of authentic meals prepared with natural ingredients.

COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE IN SUBTROPICAL WEATHER:
In the north of Argentina, the main house or most important building in a estate is known as the “sala”. The sala at El Bordo de las Lanzas has kept its thick walls, sturdy beautiful ironwork and colonial doors leading to tropical but refreshing verandas. It is one of the best examples of colonial architecture in Salta. In its rooms guests can find an important collection of furniture, wood carvings and religious paintings of the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as archaeological remains found in the nearby grounds, valuable books and centenarian documents.

In the grounds surrounding the “sala”, Graciela Arias devoted herself to design a park where local and exotic subtropical plants grow in harmony.

The main house has 8 bedrooms with bathrooms and is surrounded by lovely gardens. There is a swimming pool, and the estancia is rich in wildlife. From the estancia you can horseback ride to neighboring estancias. For dining, special dedication is given to preparing typical dishes of the area.

AN AUTHENTIC WORKING ESTANCIA:
“Estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas” is also a family business dedicated to the agricultural production on its own lands and also on leased farm fields. Both conventional and organic farming are carried out in different areas of the province of Salta.

The main activity is the cultivation of commodities and special crops such as soya, maize, wheat, sunflower seeds, safflower, beans and sugarcane.

Additionally, the estate has successfully attempted the growing of break crops such as chia, quinoa, peanut, amaranth, oat, flint corn and kenaf.

Because of its long experience, renowned performance and skilled working team, the estate also offers counselling and specialised assessment services to local investors as well as foreign financiers who are on the lookout for investment and development opportunities in the area.
