Photos of Hurricane IRMA: Washington and Inagua
September 10, 2017
NOTE: This, I hope, really is my last hurricane.
I did Andrew in 1992 - first storm of the year, first letter of the alphabet, the most
costly storm on record
I did Katrina, which wasn't much passing by in comparison to what it did to the Gulf
Coast, but still now a notorious and 2nd most costly storm
I have done Wilma, last letter of the alphabet used for storm names, 3rd most costly storm
on record
And now I add Hurricane Irma, strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic and most costly
BUT in comparison to the damage it
did to Barbuda and other Caribbean Islands,
and the lower Florida keys
Miami was spared.
We had sustained winds between 55 and 75 and Hurricane strength gusts
but the eye was 90+ miles to our west.
I post these pictures on Sunday, September 17, one week after the storm passed by Miami.
