ABOUT ECOCENTRO PUERTO MADRYN - in their own words:
Ecocentro Puerto Madryn offers an experience to encourage visitors to relate to the sea in the widest sense of the word: the sea that gives life to the planet; the sea that supports the biodiversity of marine birds and mammals in Patagonia; the sea that bathes the coasts and creates the dynamic environment of the shoreline with its multiple forms of fish and invertebrate life; the sea as presence.
Exhibitions
All year round Ecocentro hosts permanent and temporary displays and exhibitions that can be enjoyed by persons of all ages.
The exhibition A Orillas de un Frío Río de Mar (On the Shores of a Cold Sea River) seeks to spread the knowledge of the living sea, the result of a long process of evolution that can be observed in a combination of ocean seabeds, waters in movement, life processes such as photosynthesis, and trophic and functional relationships between the different organisms living there. The style of the exhibition combines modern aspects of environmental interpretation with artistic details and audiovisual presentations. Its mission is to assist in the comprehension and protection of the sea, and to offer visitors an opportunity to reflect on the world around them.
The message we attempt to convey is that the marine ecosystem is a vast complex unit in which its various components and processes are very closely interrelated. So, whatever happens to one of the components will naturally affect the whole ecosystem.
